Went to a houseparty nextdoor last night. I was cool!
Was scared at first that I wouldn't know anyone there other than Ant and the people who's party it was (and I don't know them that well). However, the longer the night went on the more people who I knew kept coming through the door (who were completly unrelated - so it wasn't like I just recognised elec eng people or anything.). I talked to loads of people, which is something I've not done for ages and I got lots of hugs too :-)
On a slightly related note:
I've also decided that chairs at houseparties are a killer. I always have more fun at parties where you have to stand (and everyone has to). It means that people can mingle better and you don't end up having crouched conversations with people who've managed to get a seat when you haven't. You also don't feel like you are sticking out like a sore thumb because you're stood in the middle, because everyone is! Bit of a random thought there, but I thought that I would share it with you! :)
