I've got an old Amstrad CPC 6128 in my loft, and I thought that if I were to be clever and make an RS-232 port for it then it could act as a terminal somewhere in the ClaudeStreet house... yes folks, I'd be able to surf the net on an ancient 8-bit machine :)
I found the schematic to build one, but it scared me (hehe... how I'll be an Electronic Engineer I don't know!)
So I started looking into other things. I once thought that it'd be cool to have a thing that took digital data and then would work out what noises an Amstrad tape would make. Then I could download simple images off the net which would be small nice and small. Then I could attatch the amstrad to the soundcard and then could play loads of games locally on that machine... this idea was so cunning that thought someone else must have done it. So with little searching I found:
You still have to wait for ages for it to load the game though... still quicker than loading Win95 though ;-D.
Anyways, I'm off to play Ghostbusters now :)
